A Virginia native, Dr. Hall completed her doctorate at
the University of Virginia in Clinical Child Psychology, a
program approved by the American Psychological Association
(APA). Her internship (also APA approved) at Case Western
Reserve Medical School/University Hospitals of Cleveland was
in clinical child psychology. She earned a postdoctoral Master’s
degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology for the California School
of Professional Psychology. She has trained in Dialectical
Behavior Therapy and consulted on a regular basis with a national
expert in eating disorders. She has also trained in Solution
Focused Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Rehabilitation
(EMDR) and Fairburn’s Transdiagnostic Approach to Eating
Disorders.
Her training as a child psychologist, working with problems
of infant development, young children, and adolescents has
assisted her throughout her career in understanding how issues,
such as abuse and neglect, addictions, trauma, and biological
predispositions can cause suffering throughout an individual’s
life. Studying clinical psychopharmacology has added to her
understanding of the biological basis and influences of emotional
suffering.
Dr. Hall has been practicing since 1976 when she worked with
her master’s degree in a rural mental health clinic.
She has been practicing in Houston since 1982. |
